We invite you to the Evening of Remembrance for Ruth Žamboki and Nikola David, which will be held on Thursday, November 20th at the Jewish Cultural Center in Belgrade, Jevrejska 16, starting at 6:00 PM.
Ruth Žamboki and Nikola David, each in their own way, left a deep mark in the art of solo singing and opera creation. Ruth Žamboki was a prominent opera singer in the 1950s in Kanjiža and Subotica, and after moving to Israel in 1969, she performed at numerous events and gatherings of our expatriates.
Nikola David, a tenor, began his career at the National Theatre and then performed at the Serbian National Theatre and on stages across Europe. He was the first cantor in Germany after World War II.
Thanks to the patronage of Jozef Žamboki, Ruth Žamboki and Nikola David performed together multiple times at concerts of opera arias in Serbia.
