The Jewish Community of Belgrade is organizing a presentation of the handbook by Miško Stanojević „ABC on Antisemitism“, which will take place at the premises of the Jewish Community of Belgrade, in the hall, on May 13, from 19:00 to 20:00.
The handbook „ABC on Antisemitism“ was created in response to a need that has particularly intensified after October 7, in the context of a significant increase in antisemitism worldwide, as well as in our social environment. An additional impetus for its creation was the insufficiently informed public discourse, the lack of adequate responses from certain institutions, and the emergence of widely spread misinformation and antisemitic narratives, especially on social media.
In such an environment, marked by misunderstandings of basic concepts and frequent confusion of facts, the need for a clear, accessible, and reliable source of knowledge arose. It is precisely from this need that the handbook „ABC on Antisemitism“ was born.
This handbook is conceived as a simple guide through 26 thematic units that cover basic concepts, common misunderstandings, and key facts related to antisemitism. Each unit contains a brief, clear explanation, as well as an expanded text that further clarifies the topic, while maintaining accessibility and comprehensibility, without delving into complex academic analyses. The handbook begins with the question „Who are the Jews?“ and ends with the question „What can I do?“, emphasizing its educational and socially responsible dimension.
In addition to these 26 thematic units, the handbook for the first time in Serbian language consolidates and presents the most important international documents in the field of combating antisemitism: The Working Definition of Antisemitism by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), Global Guidelines for Combating Antisemitism (Buenos Aires, 2024), as well as the European Union Strategy for Combating Antisemitism and Promoting Jewish Life (2021–2030), which has also been adopted by the Republic of Serbia.

The program also plans further development of educational activities, including the creation of a certified online course on antisemitism, aimed at various target groups.
The handbook was created with the expert support of Dr. Aleksandar Stojanović, Nevena Bajalica, Josh Dubell, Dr. Martin Winstone, and other international experts in the field of Holocaust education and combating antisemitism.
The presentation of the handbook will be an opportunity for a conversation with the author and expert collaborators, as well as for a discussion with the audience about the importance of systematic and accessible education in this field.
