The exhibition is organized by the Mihajlović Foundation – Phoenix, dedicated to the contemporary artistic scene of fantasy, surrealism, and magical realism. The exhibition features 34 works from the artist's recognizable rich oeuvre.
Đurović is one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary fantastic art, whose work is characterized by a symbolic and poetic language, and imaginary worlds. In his works, the woman is the central axis of the composition around which a chaotic world unfolds.
The artist paints cosmic nymphs, Eves, and sirens – dangerous in their independence, while the power of beauty is their invincible weapon. “With their idealized forms and direct gazes, they bring to life the persona of the 'femme fatale'.”
At the core of Željko Đurović's works is erotica as a vital life energy, while the female nude appears as its key symbol. Organic forms, pronounced texture, and unconventional color create a recognizable visual language.
